Overnight Baked French Toast

Our favorite tried and true baked French toast recipe. Trust me, this one is a winner!

Ingredients

  • 6-8 one-inch slices of bread, cubed into chunks
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar I like to use coconut sugar
  • 1 T vanilla

Crumb Toppings

  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar can sub for coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cut into small cubes

Instructions

  • Grease a 9x13 inch pan, fill it with cubes of bread, combine wet ingredients and the sugar, then pour over the top. Cover and refrigerate overnight. (It’s not a big deal if you skip this step and just let it soak for a few minutes before you bake it)
  • In the morning, top with crumb toppings.
  • Combine flour, cinnamon, and sugar and sprinkle it on top of the casserole. Then drop the butter pieces on top. *optional, sprinkle with frozen blueberries. 
  • Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes or until golden. Serve with whipped cream and fresh berries. No syrup needed.
