Preheat oven to 350°F.
Combine room temperature butter, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a stand mixer or a bowl with a handheld electric mixer. Beat for a solid three minutes.
Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt and mix until combined but don’t over mix at this point.
Add chocolate chips and gently mix in.
Roll into balls, about 2 Tablespoon-size, and place 12 dough balls onto a greased cookie sheet, evenly spaced.
Bake for 10-11 minutes until edges are set. Don’t overbake!
Let cool on the baking sheet for about 3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.
