Hi friends! Fall is approaching and that means back to school, and regular routines- hallelujah! If you’ve followed along on Instagram you may have already seen that my daughter and I have been preparing for her to move hours away to attend her first year of college. She got moved in last weekend and it was exciting and bittersweet. So far she is having a blast and we are excited for her. I compiled a list of some of her “dorm room essentials” of what we got for her.
Someone messaged me on Instagram with a great insight. They said “Don’t be sad when your kids leave. Be grateful that they do. The real tragedy is when they dont leave”. That feels accurate. Haha! I’m glad that we savored the time we had together and will continue to savor the time I have left with the rest of my kids at home.

What You May Have Missed On Instagram

I wanted to share a big THANK YOU to those of you who sent a nice note and a few dollars to the daughter of my dear friend who just passed from cancer.
Backstory for those who missed it: I have had a long time friend of 17 years who passed away from Cancer two weeks ago. My heart has been absolutely shattered and I pray for her family. It’s always devastating when anyone passes away, but this scenario was particularly hard because of another tragedy that occurred years ago to this sweet family. Anyway, Their oldest daughter, Ashley moved away to college within days of her mother’s passing.
Since at the time I was elbow deep in college move-out prep for my own daughter, I knew this is something my friend would have loved to help her daughter with, but her time got cut short. I felt impressed to share this girls Venmo on my IG story. I don’t like making a habit of asking people to donate money and REALLY wrestled with whether or not it was appropriate. In the end, I decided to share and the sweet girl was so humbled and overwhelmed by gratitude for the sweet notes and donations that flooded in. Thank you, thank you, thank you for loving on her!
