This is a big time favorite around here!

I love to use Yoshida’s Teriyaki sauce from Costco, or Veri Yeri Teriyaki is a great one too! But you can use any teriyaki sauce that you love.

Note: the deep dish electric skillet I use for this dish is pretty much a game changer for fried rice. You can find it by clicking the link in my instagram profile and then clicking on “amazon favorites”.

Course: Main Dishes
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon, chopped
  • 1 small white or yellow onion, diced
  • 2 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • 6 cups prepared (then cooled) white rice, such as jasmine rice
  • 3 green onions, minced
  • 3/4 cup teriyaki sauce

Instructions

  • In a giant pan or in a deep electric skillet, cook the chopped bacon. When it’s crispy, take out the bacon, and remove all but 3-4 Tablespoons of the bacon grease. (You can save the remaining bacon grease for the next time you roast potatoes, or just discard it).
  • In the bacon grease, sauté the onion until it is soft and translucent.
  • When the onion is cooked, scoot them out of the center and add the two raw eggs. Season with salt and pepper. Let them cook for a minute, then scramble them in the center.
  • Add all of the rice, the bacon, the green onions and the teriyaki sauce. Stir to combine.

Delicious 😋 big hit with the whole family! I made my own teriyaki sauce (I use Sally’s baking addiction’s recipe) and it was so yummy! Next time I’ll add more eggs (just cause that is my preference). Thanks Amber!

  5. Hi. So excited to try this! What terayaki sauce do you like and if I were to use chicken, which is the best or how could I make chicken breast to add to this recipe?

    1. Hi Vitaliya,

Yoshida’s Teriyaki sauce from Costco and Veri Yeri Teriyaki are great options! But you can use any teriyaki sauce that you love. You could add cooked shredded chicken breast to this recipe. Cook it in the Instant Pot,on the stove, or in the oven, or use a rotisserie chicken. Thanks for being here!
