These Protein Waffles are easy to make and turn out so delicious. All it takes is a few ingredients, a few seconds in the blender, and a few minutes in a waffle iron and you have a delicious, high-protein, whole-food breakfast.

Who doesn’t love a sweet, carb-filled breakfast? I know I do! But sometimes, I want a carb-filled breakfast that’s a little more balanced with protein and fiber. This Protein Waffles recipe is just that. All the yumminess of homemade waffles, but lots of extra protein and fiber from whole food ingredients. And the best part? It takes just 5 minutes to throw together in the blender.

Protein Waffles without Protein Powder

I make my protein waffles with whole food ingredients, not protein powder. If you would like to add a scoop of protein powder as well, that would take the protein count even higher. But I really like this recipe as is!

Ingredients for Protein Waffles

Oats

Oats make up the base of this recipe. They get blended with the rest of the ingredients and turn into oat flour!

Egg Whites & Whole Egg

I add egg whites in addition to a whole egg in this recipe to boost the protein. A whole egg is added for richness.

Maple Syrup

Maple syrup is a great natural sweetener. You could definitely use honey, too, if you don’t have maple syrup.

Salt

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that Redmond is the only salt I’ll ever use. I love to use Redmond sea salt because it’s mined from an ancient seabed and retains naturally occurring trace minerals that table salt lacks. Use my affiliate code AMBERSKITCHEN to get 15% off any Redmond product.

Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt adds tons of protein to this waffle recipe. You can use plain or vanilla-flavored Greek Yogurt. Either will be great.

Vanilla Extract & Cinnamon

Vanilla extract adds a lovely flavor and cinnamon adds a nice warmth that complements the oats.

How to Make Protein Waffles

Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Preheat your waffle iron and spray it with your favorite nonstick spray. I like avocado oil nonstick spray. Pour into your greased waffle iron and cook until golden and delicious!

How to Serve Protein Waffles

I like to serve these protein waffles with some Greek yogurt and berries for a healthy and protein-packed breakfast. You could also serve them with regular maple syrup.

If you want an extra special syrup for an occasion breakfast, try this yummy creamy syrup.

Here’s the recipe:

  • 1 stick salted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream

In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Add the sugar and cook gently for one minute. Stirring the whole time. Turn off the heat and add the heavy cream. Mix to combine. Serve hot!
